The most important tip for breaking this game, is the multiple poop tip. Yes you didn't hear wrong, poop tip. Basically, there are two Digimon with a passive ability that increases your EXP gained from battle: Platinum Sukamon & Platinum Numemon. The key behind this is that the effect is entirely STACKABLE, and it multiplies beyond your imaginations. Ontop of this passive ability, there are equippable items called 'Tactician USB's, which give the same effect. P.Sukamon has 2 item slots, while P.Nume's have 3.If you just started and wish to know when is the best time to abuse this trick, the first spot with a big EXP rate is the dungeon/cyber space forHagurumon's case.

So now that you have that information, this is how you break the game:

  1. Start obtaining Tactician USBs.
The only way to obtain these in unlimited amounts early in the game is through the Development function in the DigiFarm. This item is only obtainable through the 1000 yen option, and at a random RNG rate. To ensure you do not waste time, you need to-
  2. Create your army of builders.
Before the next step, make sure you change as many of your Digimon in your farm to 'Builder' personality. The item needed to change their personality to Builder is available at the shop at EDEN Entrance. This will reduce the time needed for the development to take place.
  3. Save scum time.
This is the part where you need to fight RNG by save scumming. After filling your farm with as many builders as you want, start the 1,000 yen development activity and wait for the countdown to reach 0:01 left(you can do some training while waiting). The item is only available on the 1,000 yen option, so don't bother trying to increase your chances in the 10,000 yen one. At the 0:01 point, save your game. When the development is done, check if you received 2x Tactician USBs from the farm. If you didn't, reload your file that was at 0:01 and repeat until you receive them. After you do, repeat the whole thing another 4 times to obtain a total of 10x Tactician USBs.
  4. Get the poop friends.
Digivolve some digimon to PlatinumSukamon. You can get them from DigivolvingKeramon or Hagurumon. At this point in time, your Digimon memory space is very tight, as you have not obtained much 'Memory UP' to increase your capacity, so just make do with PlatinumSukamons; you can slowly replace them with PlatinumNumemons as you progress the game later. Some people choose to get 3 of them, but it is advised to get just 2 and one more hard hitting Digimon with an AOE skill in your team of 3.
  5. Equip your poop friends withthe Tactician USBs.
You can also equip them to the hard-hitting Digimon in your team if you did it the other way. Remember that you need these Digimon with the USBs in your active battle Digimon for the effect to work; backup/benched Digimon will get the bonus exp, but items/passives from them will not affect the EXP rate. Basically, main team=2x P.Sukamons+1x ProDigimon, and fill up whatever space left in your party with those you want to feed EXP/Digivolve.

And there you have it! Enjoy your EXP rates. With this, it should be a lot easier to obtain the breeding-related trophies of the game. This is basically the same thing as the EXP gaining tip, just that you replace the poop with the prince. The Digimon with the passive Yen-increasing ability are GoldNumemon &PrinceMamemon, and the item replacing Tactician USBs are Billionaire USBs. However, Billionaire USBs can only be obtained from the 10,000 yen option instead. Alternatively, you can obtain them from directly fighting PrinceMamemon, that can be encountered at Akiba Shift & the Offline Colosseum's Legendary Cup.

The battles in this game are turn based. So ultimately, whoever has the control on the turns will fare better. For the new players going through the storyline, just try to get the hang of the advantages of Types and Elements to get the upper hand of the battle; basically always have a good variety of Digimon in your team, and direct your skills/attacks appropriately.

For the more advanced players or peeps that are having trouble with certain boss battles, these are some tips:

1. Digivolve around to specific Digimon below to obtain good skills before Digivolving back to your desired Digimon with a good special ability. The important skills in the game you want to take note of are:

  • 'Status Barrier' - Hououmon(35), Kuzuhamon(50), Plesiomon(65), Sakuyamon(80)
  • 'Safety Guard' - Cherubimon(80), Hououmon(80), Mastemon(80), MarinAngemon(80)
  • 'Final Aura' -Ofanimon(50), Mastemon(50), Rosemon(50), MarinAngemon(65)
  • 'Perfect Revive' - Ofanimon(35), Seraphimon(80), ImperialdramonPM(80), Holydramon(50)
  • 'Restore' - Sakuyamon(20), Sleipmon(65), ImperialdramonPM(65), Dianamon(65)
  • 'Accel Boost' - Tyranomon(10), Fladramon(10), Skullgreymon(15), Greymon(25), Gankoomon(35), SaberLeomon(35), Justimon(35), BanchoLeomon(35) OmegamonZwart(50)
  • Any 'Field' Boosting skills, preferably speed or the stat your main attacker is focused on.
  • Any draining/disabling/status skills, like Panic Wisp, Texture Blow, etc(more for online play)

2. Have a good mix of Digimon types with good special skills & inherited skills from above, popularly & preferably:

  • (Virus)Lilithmon - High INT piercing attack. Bonus stat recommended 1000 HP
  • (Virus)BeelzemonBM - High DEF piercing attack. Bonus stat recommended 1000 HP/100 SPD
  • (Virus)BelphemonRM - High DEF piercing attack. Bonus stat recommended 96 SP(for online)/100 SPD
  • (Vaccine)ShineGreymon - 200 ATK AOE with high base stats. Bonus stat recommended 100 ATK/SPD
  • (Vaccine)Mastemon - Fixed 25% Damage. Mostly used for support. Bonus stat recommended 100 SPD
  • (Vaccine)UlforceVeedramon - High Speed and guarantees first turn in battle. Bonus stat recommended 100 SPD
  • (Vaccine)Wargreymon - High DEF piercing attack. Bonus stat recommended 100 ATK/SPD/1000 HP
  • (Vaccine)ImperialdramonPM - High base stats with stat inducing passive. Bonus stat recommended 1000 HP
  • (Data)Jesmon - Unique blocking skill along with multi-hit attack. Bonus stat recommended 1000 HP
  • (Data)Plesiomon - High INT piercing attack. Bonus stat recommended 100 SPD
  • Most of the Royal Knights/Demon Lords series

3. Equip your Digimon with good items, preferably bad-status preventing items that end with DX, which guarantees guard. For offline battles like the Demon Lord's DLC bosses or the Colosseum's Master Cup, you can prepare the specific status guards for their specific battles. For online battles, try to equip status guards for effects that are permanent like DOT.

As long as you have a good setup like above with the additional stats from farm training/food, you should have little to no trouble in the offline content. Use recovery items and react according to the situations in battle and you should be fine. The thing about piercing attacks is they completely negate defense stats, making them very useful. Needless to say, skills that help recover/revive your Digimon is very much needed as much as possible. Accel Boost might confuse you as it takes the same number of turns>damage, but it is not the same for some skills that require a lot of SP. Also, it can hopefully one-shot your opponent in one go for online battles, requiring them to do a revival move.

As for online battles, your Digimon will be brought to lv50 to even the grounds, plus you will have a reduced 150 memory space. The key to winning online battles vs other players are status inducing and disabling skills to rule the turns timeline. Because whoever has more turns will most likely win, SPD and also HP will be a deciding factor for most battles.

To end, this section is a Q&A for those with lingering questions on the game:

  1. What is that percentage scanning thing you see at the start of every battle? Do I need to scan everything to get the Platinum?
Answer is no. This 'scan' is basically a way for you to get new Digimon into your team. When you 'scan' an enemy opponent, you are basically obtaining it's data so you can reproduce it in the DigiLab through the 'Load' function. A higher percentage scan will yield a Digimon production with a better ABI, with 200% scan getting you 5 ABI. 5 ABI is actually a very negligible amount, so you can pretty much ignore the percentages on the scans.
  2. My Digimon keeps getting damaged 2~3x while I only deal 0.5x. Why?
In this game, there is a similar system to Pokemon, where there are 'Types' and 'Elements' with advantages over each other. If you are asking this, you probably missed the tutorial on this, so you should refer to the help menu in-game.
  3. I missed one of the medals from Uchida, and I don't have an early save anymore, what do I do?
If you do not have access to DLC, answer is a New Game+, which is unlocked after beating the game. Otherwise you may obtain them from the free downloadable Demon Lord's DLC.
  4. I am stuck, I do not know what to do next to progress.
If you land yourself in this situation, you most likely skipped dialogues too quickly and missed the next objective. Things you can try are talking to Kyoko at the Detective Agency, checking the Case board, or re-visit relevant locations that are recent.
  5. There are 248 total Digimon in my field guide, but the last digimon is listed at 249. Why?
There is a hidden DLC Digimon, Dianamon, which only becomes available after completing the Demon Lord's DLC.

For any other questions, feel free to make a comment and I will try my best to answer. Alternatively, you may send me a message on PSN at 'Kenzopi' :) Good luck with your Platinum trophy!
