Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dr. Clinton Kay Carter Brazil South Clinton Kay Carter died of cancer Friday, August 13, 1993 at his home in Denver, Colorado. Clinton was born in Logan, Utah November 27, 1947 to Kay L. and Clarene G.

Carer. He attended school in Park Valley, Utah until the eighth grade when the family moved to Bountiful. Utah. Clinton was the student body vice-presiof dent Viewmont High School the year it opened; also Sterling Scholar for the state of Utah in the field of science. After graduating, served an LDS mission in the Brazil South Mission where he was district leader and zone leader.

Upon his return, he began his studies at the University of Utah. At thaf time, the artificial heart project was in its infancy at the university and Clinton one of the first "calf sitters." Later when he entered the College of Medicine, he was given the Outstanding Student Research Award for his work on artificial heart and platelet function. In 1980, as a major in the U.S. Air Force, he became director of the emergency room at Travis AFB, and concurrently worked part-time at the California Medical Facilities and at the Intercommunity Hospital in Fairfield, California. In 1982 Dr.

Carter moved to Denver, Colo, where he became an emergency physician at St. Anthony Hospital systems. He founded Mountain View Medical Health Clinic and Mountain View Medical Management Computer System. In 1986 he began Physicians' Shared Services, which also serves physicians. Clinton loved the outdoors.

He had a private pilot and glider license, and was active in hang gliding, sea diving, mountain climbing and river rafting. He is survived by his father and mother, Kay L. and Clarene G. Carter, Salt Lake City; brothers, Rulon G. (Melinda), West Valley City, Utah; Arnold Salt Lake City; sisters, Gwen (Roger) Davis, Highland, Utah; and Jane (Terry) Jenkins, North Salt Lake, Utah; 15 nieces and nephews.

Edith F. Clark died Monday, August 16, 1993, at a Salt Lake Hospital of complications following surgery. She was born in Elsinore, Utah on December 22, 1912 to Edward and Elizabeth Munson Farnsworth. Married Newell S. Clark on Sept.

Condley MAPLETON- -Clyde Herman Condley, 68, died Monday, August 16, 1993 at his home in Mapleton of leukemia.

He was born on March 10, 1925 in Hector, Arkansas, the son of George William Condiey and Nora Edward Condley. He married Margaret Irene Jones on March 29, 1949 in Midland, Texas. He owned and operated Knight-Condley Reproduction Company and Aero both in Salt Lake City. He also owned and operated Pines Ranch in Birdseye. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Mapleton; one son and two daughters, Mrs. David (Carla) Pendieton, Murray; Michael E. He worked in the Chief Clerk's Office for General George C. Marshall in Washington D.C. He served in the Horse Cavalry in Ft. Riley. Kansas.

He participated in building the American Legion Club House in Richfield upon his retum. He served as secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president of the Richfield Lion's Club. Served on the board of directors for the Richfield Chamber of Commerce. He graduated with honors from Richfield High School. Graduate of University of Utah, received special recognition from the CPAs of Utah.

He was an accountant in Richfield for many years and served many businesses and friends. He was a fine fisherman. He loved all children and children loved him. He gave much pleasure to many people by taking them fishing at Fishlake. He fulfilled a lifelong dream of building a cabin there.

She graduated from Park City High School in 1925 after receiving her teacher's credentials, and then taught school in Blanding, Utah.

She later moved to Provo, Utah and also taught there. She later moved back to Salt Lake City and taught in the Granite School District where she continued teaching until she retired in the 1960's. During her teaching years, she accumulated enough credits to receive her B.A. and her master's in education. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the 49'er Club.

He was bom May 21, 1918, in Scipio, Utah to Angus and Ina Peterson Memmott. He married Fern Rasmussen on April 25, 1941, in Scipio, Utah. She died December 24, 1977.

He married Emily Hermann on October 25,1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she preceded him in death on May 22, 1988.

Was an upholster for 65 years. Active High Priest in the LDS Church, he served faithfully throughout his life including a mission to the Mission, and two Stake Missions. 'N Walter Jarvis Miles ST. GEORGE, Utah-Walter Jarvis Miles, age 87, died Saturday, August 14, 1993 at his son's home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born October 11, 1905 in St. George, Utah, a son of George Edmund and Josephine Jarvis Miles. He married Eva Leavitt in the St.

George Temple on May 19, 1931. She died in November 1987. Walter was a lifelong resident of St. George. He attended BYU and later received his master's from Utah State University in Logan.

She married Arvil N. Peterson, February 12, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He died June 21, 1968. She received her education in Altamont, Utah.

She was a resident of Ogden and moved to Roy seven years ago. She had also lived various places from Boston to California. She was a member of the Roy 11th LDS Ward. She served as a visiting teacher and ward librarian. She was a former member of the Highland Ward.

Mrs. Peterson had worked for ZCMl. Surviving are one daughter, Arda Virginia Peterson, Roy; two sisters, Margie Sheppard, Corning, lowa; Madora Mecham, Hazelton, Idaho; two sisters-in-law, Fern Brandon, Paul, Idaho; Barbara Bandon, Wellsville, Utah; a special cousin. She also served the community and her church as a talented musician. She held many positions in the LDS Church, including Primary president, counselor in the Relief Society, stake Primary, ward organist, and chorister. She served for three years with her husband as he presided over the Scotland Edinburgh Mission for the church. Her life was centered around her family, gardening, music, and the love she hod for her neighbors and friends. She is survived by her husband and her mother, Erma Thompson, both of Topele: six sons and four daughters, Scott C.

She was educated in a number of schools in Utah and Idaho as her father followed work as a carpenter.

In April 23, 1923, she married Ernest LaVer Dunton in Castle Dale, Utah. He died November 1939. For the next several years she worked as a housekeeper and took in ironing to support herself and two sons. In she was employed by the Postal Service in McGill, Nevada. A second marriage in 1944 to George A.

Wilson ended in divorce. She moved from McGill, Nevada to Salt Lake City in August 1944 where she worked as a bookkeeper, cook and seamstress. She took great pride in making her own clothing. She is survived by two sons, Ernest Clair Dunton (Virginia), Tucson, Arizona; and Jerry H. Dunton (Carolyn); and daughter-in-law, Nance V.

Dunton; five grandchildren, Garrett L. (Lois), Enterprise, Marsha Boyd San Jose, Mark Vancouver, and two grandsons she helped rear, James Patric Dunton and Robert Thomas (Natali) Dunton. She is survived by 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, lyone B. Austin and Mrs. Ray (Beulah) Thoresen, both Salt Lake City; and a brother, Claude Albert Brown, Brush Prarie, Washington.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m., August 18, 1993 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 So. She is survived by husband, son, John Oscar Anderson; daughter, Sally Sue Anderson Lee; one stepdaughter, Sharon Gerbich Chapman; three stepsons, Gary Wayne T. and Rickie Gerbich. Olive was the youngest of 10 children and is survived by brothers, Hyrum and Rex Lambert; and sister, Lola Williams; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild. She will be dearly missed by her husband Pete's sisters, Dorothy Kenner, Anna Lisnich, and Mary Lee Harris. Preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Adeline Kelley Balding Adeline Kelley Balding, widow of Dr. Bruce N. Balding passed away in Salt Lake City. August 14, 1993. She was one of twelve children bom to James A and Carrie Bright Kelley in Marengo, Illinois, February 15, 1912.

She was the last surviving Kelley child. She went to Elgin, Ilinois' Sherman Hospital to train as a registered nurse. She worked as a nurse for many years, specializing in private duty nursing. On September 28. 1946.

She and Dr. Balding were married and opened an obstetric and gynecological practice in Ventura, California. Mirs Balding was active in community organizotions such as Ventura County Medical Auxiliary, 4-da-kas, Children's Home Society, and National Charity League Tickockers. After raising their daughter, Susan, Dr. and Mrs Balding enjoyed their Ventura County Recreational Vehicle Club.

Dr. Balding died in May of 1985. Nana's chief delight was her nine grandchildren: Bruce J. Webber, Los Angeles, Calif, Elder Jared P. Webber currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Korea; Benjamin, Adam, Elizabeth, Adriana, Timothy, Elias and Joshua Webber of Salt Lake City.

He served as Sunday School president twice, Stake High Council for 11 years, mission president, bishop and temple worker 31 years.

He was postmaster in Blanding for 20 years. Moved to Salt Lake in 1958 where he worked in real estate. Survived by wife, Elma; son, Troy; daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Greta) Davis; 10 step children; eight grandchildren; numerous step grand and great -grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin and Frost; five sisters, Ciella, Dottie, Thora, Rhoda, and Geneva. Preceded in death by a daughter, Floy; a son, John; nine sisters and four brothers.

NT Stanley Dean Bringhurst Stanley Dean Bringhurst, age 65, passed away August 14, 1993. Born June 23, 1928 in Pocatello, Idaho to Benjamin and Bernice Gates Bringhurst. He was raised in Toquerville since the age of 5 and then moving to Salt Lake City in 1958 when he married Sandra Hawkins November 8, 1958. He served in the Army for four years, part of which in Germany. Was a truck driver and had 35 accident-free years and had received many awards and certificates for his driving.

Stan always had a positive attitude, was well-liked and brought a smile to everyone he met, and had a good sense of humor. She helped her husband establish and operate Rasmussen Equipment Company, a local heavy-duty construction equipment dealership in Salt Lake City. Since her husband's death, her two sons have continued to operate the business.

Dorothy had a talent for making and selling beautiful ceramics. She enjoyed being a member of Willow Creek Country Club where she golfed and bowled. She also enjoyed playing bridge. She will be remembered as a considerate and generous person by her loved ones. Survived by sons.

Violinist in the Utah Symphony 1943 to 1958. Maestro Abravanel called her "Bobbie." Married Douglas Allan Smith in the Salt Lake Temple December 10, 1951. Her service in the LDS Church as a leader or teacher in Relief Society, Young Women, Sunday School and Primary culminated in the Mission when her husband was mission president. Always a musician, her desire as a violin teacher for 33 years was to impart self-esteem and a love of music as well as technical skills. She worked many years in the Utah Federation of Music Clubs in organizing Junior String Festivals.

The garden she created at Hubbard Avenue made our world more beautiful and once was pictured in "Art in Bloom." Friends who knew her well say, "She was a wonderful example to all of us." But always, her family came first. Survivors are her husband, Doug, chief caretaker throughout her two-year- illness with cancer. Their five children are Allan (Mihoshi) Smith of New York, New York; Janet (Howard) Thorley of Cedar City; Robert (Kathy) Smith of Grapevine, Texas; Sue (Terry) Anderson of Taylorsville; and Valerie (Spencer) Colby of Edwards, 15 grandchildren, and two she had hoped to see. Also, brothers, Richard Cariquist of Hazleton, Idaho; Roger (Amante) Carlquist of Annapolis, Maryland; Stephen (Iris) Carlquist of Salt Lake City; sisters, Natalie C. Day and Edith Reed.

Preceded in death by sisters, Mary Stewart, Ethel Woolstenhulme; brother, Philip R. Carlquist.
